Feature
Mark a debt settled the moment it's paid.
When someone pays you back, tap once. Dolio updates every balance, keeps a permanent settlement record, and recomputes who owes whom.
Try Dolio freeThe problem
The 'did you ever pay me?' problem
Settlement happens outside the app — over Venmo, in cash, with a beer. By the time you remember to update the spreadsheet, half the group has paid back without telling anyone, and the math is stale.
Dolio collapses recording a payment into a single tap from the balance screen, with a permanent receipt for proof.
How it works
Settle in one tap, recorded forever
- 1
Tap 'Mark paid' on the balance row
Every balance row has a settle action. No new screen, no form to fill — Dolio knows the amount, the payer, and the receiver from the row.
- 2
Dolio recomputes everyone's balance
The settled amount comes off both sides. Any remaining transfers are recalculated using the same minimum-transfer logic.
- 3
Full history, always
Every settlement is logged with timestamp and amount. If anyone questions whether it happened, the proof is one tap away.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a settlement?
Yes. Settlements are deletable from the history view; doing so restores the balance immediately. The deletion is itself logged for transparency.
Can I record a partial payment?
Yes. Instead of settling the full balance, type a smaller amount. Dolio applies the partial payment and keeps the remaining balance open.
Does Dolio handle the actual money transfer?
No — Dolio is a record-keeper, not a payment processor. You move money however you want (Venmo, bank transfer, cash) and tap to record it.
Who can mark a debt as paid?
Either party — the person who owes or the person owed. Both see the settlement in their history.
